Museum Vleeshuis is closed for a long time for restoration. The works will start in 2025. Both the outer shell and the interior of the monument and museum will be thoroughly tackled. Read more

Museum Vleeshuis displays musical instruments, craftsmanship and traditions from 800 years of musical life in Antwerp and Flanders. The museum collection comes to life in concerts, tours and workshops.

The monument

The story of the Vleeshuis begins more than 500 years ago. For more than three centuries, the Vleeshuis served as the trade centre of the Antwerp butchers’ guild. After the French Revolution, painters, opera singers and wine merchants made use of the monument. Today the Vleeshuis houses a collection of almost 4000 music objects.
