Fryderyk Chopin

Google Arts & Culture

At the request of Google and the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, Museum Vleeshuis collaborated with pianist Nicolas Callot to create a presentation on Frédéric Chopin.

Chopin in Vienna

Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849) was one of the greatest piano composers of all time. But modern-day pianos differ in various ways from the instruments Chopin knew. And leading cities, including Vienna, had their own traditions of piano-making.

In this tour

You will listen to one of Chopin's finest compositions and discover the musical possibilities of a Viennese fortepiano from his day.
