No bow, no music
The violin bow, as we know it today, has a long history. Centuries ago, they were simple, straight sticks with little in the way of refinement. Over time, bows became more and more sophisticated. One interesting aspect of their development was the transition from a convex to a concave shape.
In this tour
You will learn about the evolution of the bow, how bows are made and how they determine the sound of a violin.
