TorenTunes

A small exhibition about grand sounds

Starting from March 14, 2025, Museum Vleeshuis will open a mini-exhibition at the City Hall about the Antwerp Cathedral Tower and its carillon. You will see some exceptional pieces from the museum's collection and learn all about the tower's functions.

World Heritage

Since 1999, the magnificent Cathedral Tower has been under UNESCO protection. Together with the City Hall, the tower is protected as a Belfry. For the people of Antwerp, it is a symbol of eternal pride, and for visitors, it is a unique example of Gothic architecture.

Grand sounds

Now that Museum Vleeshuis is closed for restoration, we bring the rich story of the tower to life in the City Hall. In the mini-exhibition TowerTunes, you will learn more about the tower as a Belfry, music box, and clock. With a few exceptional pieces from the museum collection, you’ll discover why it is closely linked to both the Vleeshuis and the City Hall.

Tower Climbs

When you think of the Cathedral, you think of tower climbs. In 2025, Museum Vleeshuis will again organize guided tours through the Cathedral Tower. You will see the bells up close, learn all about the carillon, and enjoy a beautiful view of the city. These tours begin with a visit to the mini-exhibition TowerTunes at the City Hall.
